  • Energon shield: Absorbs up to 10 points of damage (4 uses).
  • EMP (Electro-magnetic pulse): Disables Transformers and all electronic devices within melee range for 1 round.

Description:

It is difficult to get anything past Soundwave, as he is the master of all that can be heard or monitored electronically, no matter how faint the signal – he can even read the minds of others. He will never use this remarkable ability to eavesdrop on his fellow Decepticons, however, out of deep respect for them. Soundwave represents a high danger to his enemies, though most of the time they are completely unaware that he is closely watching their every move. His unique cassette deck design allows him to transport multiple smaller Transformers, or “Cassetticons”; Rumble, Frenzy, Ravage and Laserbeak frequently aide him on missions, particularly covert operations.

Back Story:

Soundwave has always been highly valued for his unique abilities, which has enabled him to infiltrate various enemy groups and establish himself amongst their ranks. However, it wasn’t until the Decepticons were formed that he discovered where his true loyalties lay. He remains a valuable asset to the Decepticon cause and has, on several occasions, been able to thwart enemy attacks by gathering useful intel that has allowed his fellow Decepticons to disable them before they had a chance to strike.

Motto:

“Those who speak the least are the ones who hear the most.”

Character Profile: Rumble

Character name: Rumble

Affiliation: Decepticon

RPG Stats:

Strength: +5

  • Knowledge of architecture and engineering: Knows the strong and weak points of buildings and structures, and the strength and weaknesses of diverse mechanisms.
  • Weapon proficiency: Explosives. May hit up to 5 enemies with one explosion.
  • Knowledge of explosives and unstable elements.

Description:

As one of the “Cassetticons” in Soundwave’s care, Rumble is smaller than the average Transformer but does not let others intimidate him because of his size – in fact, he uses it to his advantage. As a saboteur, he is particularly adept at infiltrating enemy territory and destroying it from the inside – by the time they have gotten wind of what’s happening, Rumble is long gone. He is often partnered with one or more of his fellow Cassetticons on missions. While others often accuse him of being nothing more than a tough guy with a mean temper, his fellow Decepticons know him better than that: put simply, he is very loyal and does not tolerate anyone who dares antagonize him or his friends.

Back Story:

Rumble’s earliest experiences of war taught him that the only ones he could trust were those who had stuck by him through the worst of times, and not just the best of times. For Rumble, this included Frenzy, Soundwave, and his fellow Cassetticons, though his small circle of friends has since expanded to include the inner circle of Decepticons under Megatron’s leadership, who he now considers to be family.

Motto:

“When the ground shakes, destiny shifts.”

Character Profile: Ravage

Character name: Ravage

Affiliation: Decepticon

Battle Stats:
Total Armor Class (12 + class bonus + armor bonus): 12

Class Feats (Infiltrator):

  • Change signature: Can change sub-group signature at will (cannot have two signatures at the same time).

Class Feats (Saboteur):

  • Knowledge of architecture and engineering: Knows the strong and weak points of buildings and structures, and the strength and weaknesses of diverse mechanisms.
  • Weapon proficiency: Explosives. May hit up to 5 enemies with one explosion.
  • Knowledge of explosives and unstable elements.

Description:

Of all the “Cassetticons” under Soundwave’s guardianship, Ravage is probably the most feared and despised by the enemy because he is both powerful and difficult to capture, due to the natural abilities that come with his jaguar-like robot form. He often works alone on missions that require both time and patience to complete, preferring to keep his distance unless he is forced to attack or defend himself. He is equipped with two missiles in jaguar mode.

Back Story:

Ravage has always been loyal to Soundwave, and to the Decepticon cause. Ravage has proven his skills and capability as an infiltration specialist over and over again on several different occasions, whether acting as a saboteur against enemy attacks, or as a spy for intel gathering.

Motto:

“Move unseen, strike with certainty.”

Character Profile: Laserbeak

Character name: Laserbeak

Affiliation: Decepticon

RPG Stats:

Function: Scout
Rank: 4
Alignment: Loyal Good
Vital Points (Start) (Endurance x 10): 70

Courage: +8
Skill: +9

Total Skills Points: +60

Battle Stats:
Total Armor Class (12 + class bonus + armor bonus): 12
Attack Power (Skill + Speed): 18
Maximum (Start) Evasive Manoeuvres: 4

Class Feats (Scout):

  • Knowledge of terrains: Can map an area quickly and identify the purpose of structures.
  • Search area: Can identify hidden enemies and hazards, and spot objectives from a distance.
  • See traps: Can see traps before activating them (short-range only).
  • Hide in plain sight: If not actively searched for, the possessor of this feat can blend in with the scene, disappear within a crowd or avoid arousing the suspicion of guards.

Description:

Laserbeak is one of the “Cassetticons” under Soundwave’s guardianship. Although he is one of the smallest and least intrusive amongst the Decepticons, they never take him for granted. He is the quintessential spy; small, fast and, in most cases, undetectable. The Decepticons will rarely embark on an important or sensitive mission without him. His modus operandi is to stay under the radar whilst gathering evidence against the enemy. Laserbeak’s versatile transformation capabilities are also especially useful; he can transform into a modified miniature jet, or assume a form that resembles a condor – he can even turn into the barrel of a functional laser blaster!

Back Story:

Laserbeak’s skills in the art of surveillance and his patience for intel gathering has always come in handy for the Decepticons – probably more times than they can count. Many planned enemy attacks have been thwarted and traps avoided thanks to Laserbeak and the invaluable information that he was able to bring to the table just when it was needed most.

Motto:

“Zero in. Strike. Vanish.”

Character Profile: Frenzy

Character name: Frenzy

Affiliation: Decepticon

RPG Stats:

Function: Warrior

Strength: +7
Intelligence: +8
Agility/Speed: +4
Endurance: +8
Courage: +7
Skill: +8

Total Skills Points: +60

Weapons:
Incendiary missile: 5 missiles available. +10

Abilities:
Programming: This allows a character the ability to decipher electronic codes, encrypt/decrypt messages. +5

Battle Stats:
Total Armor Class (12 + class bonus + armor bonus): 14
Attack Power (Skill + Speed): 12
Maximum (Start) Evasive Manoeuvres: 4

Class Feats (Warrior):

  • Weapon proficiency: Melee and Standard ranged weapons. Allows 3 attacks per round.
  • Improved armor proficiency: +2 to Armor Class.

Description:

Frenzy is Rumble’s twin and also one of Soundwave’s “Cassetticons”. He is the more unpredictable version of Rumble who prefers to jump into a fight rather than deal with the enemy strategically. For this reason, he is more suited to direct combat situations rather than covert operations. Rumble’s more level-headed approach tends to have a positive effect on Frenzy, who would otherwise be difficult to approach due to his more introverted nature. They are both far more effective as a duo than individually.

Back Story:

Frenzy was a rebel and a social outcast who was despised by the “normals” – a term used to refer to the upper and middle class Autobots who predominated Cybertron’s social caste system in the early days – not just because he was a Destron, but also because of his tendency to start conflicts, prompted by the bigotry and injustices perpetrated against him and his twin, Rumble. However, his guardian, Soundwave, was well aware of the increasing anti-Destron sentiments among Cybertron’s inhabitants and was able to ensure both their safety and protection by aligning with the Decepticon cause.

Code of Honour

Code-of-Honour2

Summary: Thundercracker sets the record straight about events from his past while awaiting rescue on an asteroid. It features, obviously, Thundercracker, with supporting characters Kup, Springer and Blitzwing.

This story is a spinoff from an episode of an upcoming series; however, it can be read as a standalone. It will also link to an upcoming episode of the series Rise of the Decepticons.

I’d wanted to write a story focusing on Thundercracker as the Heroic Decepticon. The canonical issue of the question of his loyalty had come up, and I felt it important to address it. Though this trait was only mentioned in his original profile (never in the cartoon), it has nevertheless spawned a plethora of fan fiction highlighting this particular aspect of his character.

I wanted to dispel that myth.

You can read Code of Honour at FanFiction.net.

The French Bug

The French Bug is available to read at FanFiction.net and AO3.

Autobots and Decepticons alike are plagued by a strange affliction. Will they be able to reverse its effects before it’s too late?

I really need to get on to some more serious fics, but this idea was bugging me to write it (get it?), so I did. You don’t have to know French to enjoy this story, and no, I don’t know French either! Bing translate is my friend. Or Bravo…

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD

Here are the English translations for the (mostly) French dialogue used in the story:

Trouble in Paradise

My new story, Trouble in Paradise, is complete and can be found at FanFiction.net.

Summary: Swindle attempts to solve a mystery, and help the Decepticons earn a place in Paradise.

Trouble-in-Paradise

Trouble in Paradise is not only my first detective story, but it is also the first story that I have written in first-person. Swindle is the central character, and because I was able to convey his direct thoughts and feelings, you’ll find that there is a little bit of bias against the Autobots as he, and the Decepticons in general, see them as rivals and will make fun of them any chance they get. Of course, the Autobots most certainly like to do the same to them!

Swindle is one of my favorite Decepticons. I think he has an intriguing and multi-faceted personality, and I thought that he would be perfectly suited to detective fiction. I do intend to write more for this genre in future, and will probably be using other central characters, but I do like Swindle and he will definitely be returning to star in future stories.

Paradise Planet was used in the G1 Japanese cartoon Headmasters, though I’ve disregarded the canonical story completely, and added original characters (Reps. Mabus, Karlin and Gadrin, Commissioner Balek, Ambassador Shantar, Talak Ren, Solan, and Tora) for this story. ‘Paradisia’ and ‘Orbita’ are original names.

Transformers: Heroes Chapter Summaries

Heroes1-sm

Synopsis: A century ago, the eons-old war between the Autobots and the Decepticons suddenly and inexplicably came to an end. Since then, many have gone their separate ways, whilst others still hold onto the bitter memories of war. Now, as Autobots and Neutrals join forces in a new directive to capture every Decepticon still left alive, it appears that the Autobots will finally get their chance to even the score, and defeat their enemies once and for all. But when they become the target of seemingly random, yet terrifying attacks, some begin to realize that the enemy may be much closer to home than anyone could have ever imagined.

Inspired by, well, the axed Heroes, and also Lost. Not the story lines or characters (it’s not a Crossover) but in the way those shows are presented, with particular emphasis on suspense, action, drama, and the inclusion of character flash backs/back stories, all while revealing the final plot and final revelation bit by bit – and, not to mention, a huge cast (as in Lost)! I really enjoyed those shows so I thought I’d try my hand at a similar writing style for this Transformers story. So far, I think it’s working out pretty well.

It’s an ongoing saga, aimed at an adult audience. It is in-depth and complex (and long). It aims to explore the motivations and intricacies surrounding the ongoing conflict between the Autobots (and, more recently, the Alliance – a collaboration between Autobots and Neutrals) and the Decepticons. I may organize it later on into a number of Arcs, to make it easier to read or follow before it gets impossibly long.
